Review of the Himalaya #4FabulousHair Care Range

Hey guys,

I hope you all are doing well. Now with the festivals over, we finally have some free time for ourselves. I know most of you are super busy and hardly get time to take care of yourselves. But hey your skin and care needs the love and care. They will definitely thank you later.

Well today’s post will be about hair care. We might get a spa a month every now and then or oil our hair once a week but is it enough? After all the hair faces all the dust, heat and pollution throughout the day. Well this is where the new Himalaya Hair Care Range comes in.

The 4 Fabulous Hair Care Range is giving you four steps to follow with four amazing products which will give you super healthy, salon like hair everyday. Let me elaborate the steps for you and tell you all about the products.

Step 1 : Oiling

The very essential step for every hair care therapy is oiling. This Anti- Hair Fall Hair Oil from Himalaya Herbals has Bhringaraja and Amalaki as it’s main ingredients. As we know, Bhringaraja is an anti hair fall agent and Amalaki works as a conditioner. Take the right amount of hair oil according to your hair length, heat it a bit and massage it nicely from your scalp to your route. This is an extremely light oil which has a soft smell as compared to most hair oils which tend to have a strong smell which most of us cannot tolerate. Now massage the oik with your finger tips in a gentle, circular motion all over your scalp. It is very essential as it promotes blood citculation and hence promotes hair growth. Once done, make a braid and go off to a sweet slumber. Step 1 was pretty easy wasn’t it?

Step 2 : Shampoo

Now once you are up in the morning head off to the shower. Take a generous quantity in a cup and mix it nicely with some water. Now clean your hair thoroughly with it. All the oil and greasyness is going to go away after the first wash and leave the hair squeaky clean. Thw Himalaya Herbals Anti-Hair Fall Cream has Bhringaraja and Butea Frondosa. Butea Frandosa prevents hair thinning and reduces hair fall. Done with step 2 so quickly? Two more steps to go!

Step 3 : Conditioning.

Many of us tend to miss out on conditioning because we don’t have time or don’t consider it important enough. Well let me tell you conditioning helps retain the moisture content of the hair which will otherwise be lost. Now the Himalaya Herbals Anti-Hair Fall Conditioner has Bhringaraja and Palasha. Palasha is an essential agent in prevention of hair fall. It makes the hair thick and less fragile. Now what you do is, apply conditioner to your entire length except the scalp and wait for 5 minutes before you wash it off thoroughly. You’ll see that the hair has become so much soft. But wait! We are not done it!

Step 4: Protection

Now this is an absolutely new step added to your daily hair care routine. It is super quick and super effective. This is the Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Fall Cream. It was Bhringaraja and Amla as it’s main ingredients. Take a generous quantity of this cream and apply it to your scalp as well as the entire hair. Massage it thoroughly and allow it to rest for sometime. Then wash it off under running water. Make sure your scalp is cleaned properly. Once done towel dry your hair and your regular hair serum. And you are done !

Doesn’t your hair feel amazing?

It is super soft, smells amazing and feels healthier already. And the cherry on the cake, it is budget friendly and easily available both online and offline. So now you won’t have rush to the salon every now and then. I’m attaching the link to the online sites where it is available and the prices of the products as well. Let me know if you tried them yet.

Till then, it’s a goodbye

Love you guys.

Maa Durga’s arrival every year is a much anticipated event. But Maa refuses to stay beyond those few days at her mother’s abode. The adrenaline rush increases as the days come near. But alas. As soon as Mahalaya starts, the days seem to rush past us and to our dismay the day arrives when Maa bids us adieu and leaves with her family. It is during this time that we Bengalis have a low mood and we tend to become upset. So, to get over this bad phase, me and my family decided to go on a quick trip to lift ourselves up and start with our mundane life afresh. After much research, we found a very small city tucked within our own state, Purulia. It is within Purulia that Baghmundi is situated.

With the population just a little above 1.3 lacs, this place is a very scarcely populated place with a picturesque landscape. The train we took was the Howrah- Chakradarpur which was an over night train. We boarded at 23:00 and reach the next day at around 7:30. The station where we got down was at Barabhum station. The Homestay where we had reservations had arranged for our cars and they met us at the station itself. From there we had to take a 30 minutes road trip to reach our stay.

We stayed at the Chhowburu Tourism Homestay. It is a nice cosy place with a beautiful view of the lush greenery and the hills nearby. We had a fooding and lodging package so all wd had to do was to pay up to money and all other arrangements were made by them. They have 2 sharing and 4 sharing rooms. Not all of the rooms have an attached washroom. However there is a common washroom outside at everyones disposal. This was our tour itinerary.

Day 1:

Tour iterenery

After we reached Chhowburu Homestay,we had our set breakfast which had puri, aloo sabzi, egg boiled and jalebi. Then after freshening up we sat outside in the verandah which had the hills right in front of us. With warm tea, we started with our adda session. We spent the entire first half resting. Then we were called for lunch. We were served rice, dal, aloo bhaji and chicken followed by chutney and papad. We immediately left for the tour which was scheduled in the second half. We went to the khairabera lake first. It is a beautiful lake covered on two sides by hills. The weather we beautiful and we had an amazing time there. The hills were so welcoming in comparison to the hustle and bustle of the city. The winds were in pur hair and the greenery was soothing to our mind and soul. This place also has a small structure from where the excess water of the damn runs off. The sound of the water hitting the rocks beneath acts as a mood booster. We stayed there the entire evening and after ample photo sessions decided to head on to the next destination on which was the Charida village. Now this place is famous for chhow masks. The old locals make these from their homes and sell it from there as well. Be careful of the prices. We went to the shop owned by a very old man. He was an extremely nice guy and lowered the price of every single item we bought. The durga and kathakali sculptures were made were utmost perfection and we all left with a smiling face that day. We returned to the Homestay where they served us with aloo pakora and some warm tea. We had a gala time singing and dancing and chatting away. Dinner is served by 9:30. They encourage an early dinner as they close the kitchen by 10:00 approximately. We had a nice meal of chicken, vegetable and rooti.

Day 2:

We had an entire day scheduled for us. We left at 8 after breakfast. Our first stop was the Bamni falls.

A beautiful waterfall tucked within the hills. The waterfall has several stops if one is interested to go down to the base. But the path that leads down is extremely dangerous. The trees and bushes cover both sides of the steep slope. It is slippery during monsoon. Not everyone takes the risk of going down the falls. 5 of us decided to complete the journey and we were successful in doing so. The view from the middle of the hills is that of a beautiful lake which has a natural green tinge.

It was a lovely sight. After successfully going till the base we were greated by the splashes of the waterfall as it hit the boulders. It was so calm and quite there with almost no one there other than us. We sat and chatted on the boulders and enjoyed the spray of the cool water from the falls. We spent around 1.5 hours there at the falls. Then the next stop was the Upper Dam which was a large lake surrounded by high fences.

We couldn’t stay long as the heat had become unbearable. Then we headed to the hill top which was the highest point of Ayoudhya hills. It wasn’t much of a sight but we found a government guest house there and we could take a washroom break. A major drawback here is the lack of basic amenities. There are no public restrooms here except for the washrooms in the homestay. This is a major drawback. We had to request the manager at the government guest house to allow all the women to use the restrooms. It was a shock indeed. Never knew a place like this existed in west bengal which lacked the most basic ametinity. Anyway from there we were taken to the Mayuri Hill which offered a view of the city.

Then moving on we went to the Durgabera dam. It used to be a mining spot which is now covered in water. The lake is beautiful and the carved mountains are indeed breathtaking.

The last stop was the Thurga Lake which was amazing and a place to relax after the hectic journey.

We returned to our Homestay for our lunch which was a mutton meal. We took a small break and continued with the rest of the trip in the evening. We left at 5 for the Banjara Camp which was also owned and managed by the same owner, Mr.Sujit of Chhowburu Tourism. The place is lovely. There was tents around the campus with camping activities arranged. There was a rope walk, a tire swing and hammocks. The weather was lovely with a light drizzle to set the mood.

They arranged for pakoras there and a bon fire too. The track that leads of the camping site is a amidst a dense forest. It was pitch dark and the experience was one of a kind. We returned to our abode where we had ordered some chicken pakoras separately which was outside the package. We had a dinner of tarka rooti and the end ended perfectly.

Day 3:

This was the last day of the trip. We were supposed to go sight seeing but we were was too tired and the weather made us super sleepy. So we quit on the sight seeing and spent the day there. We left for the station at 1:30. Our train was from Purulia at 3:00. We hated leaving the place as the scenic beauty would be missed too much. We promised to return soon as much of Baghmundi and Purulia is yet to be explored. These are hidden treasure and should be promoted and maintained by our government.

I’m attaching the list of all the places you can visit in case you are visiting. Monsoon is the best time to visit this place as the greenery is at it’s peak.

The places you can visit :

Forests of Ajodhya,Matha and Kuilapal , Waterfalls at Thurga,Bammi and Dauri khal, Tribal habitations of Ajodhya and baghmundi ,and dams of Panchet,Murguma, Keshto Bazaar and Koyrabera. There is Pakhi pahar for trekking and the joychandi pahar. There are picnic spots at duarsini, dolma and the dance of chhow and jhumur gaan shouldn’t be missed.

Pre Puja Rupchorcha

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.

Bengalis around the world plan their entire year around one of the biggest festivals of the world which is Durga puja. Bengalis living around the world try to come back to their homeland during this time and be a part of the grandeur. While the entire city is dressing up and gearing for the most happening event, it is also true that we are not getting enough time to prepare ourselves for the pujo. While the shopping is mostly done and the plans made, are we ready to face such a big festival yet? Well the answer is probably no. If you are someone like me who keeps everything for the last moment, well now is the time to start. These are some of the basic things that you can tick off your check list and be a little more prepared this time. Happy reading !

Staying in Kolkata and working the entire week, be it in your office or school or college, you all have been severely affected by the sun. But with that uneven skintone, most of us wouldn’t feel confident enough to rock those amazing apparels.

The first totka is the best and most loved one. In a clean bowl, mix 2 spoon of besan and 1 spoon of turmeric followed by the juice of 1 entire lemon and half a spoon curd. Mix the paste real well and make sure there are no granules left. Now apply the paste carefully on your face. Leave the eye region as it tends to be the most sensitive area. After the pack dries up, slowly rub it in circular motion with some water and keep doing it until the entire thing comes off. I usually tend to wash it once again with a nice face wash as my skin has a tendency to retain the yellow stain of the turmeric. I usually complete the regime with an aloe vera gel or something which is light to the skin giving it space to breathe.

Sometimes it is a burden for us to gather the ingredients and make a paste out of it and use it. The sheer laziness of doing these tasks prevents us from doing it at all. So for them I would suggest the lotus Anti Tan scrub and face pack. This is a deadly combo. During my college days I had to do practicals out on the road for hours and without an umbrella. My skin got burnt on certain days. Then a local seller introduced me to this amazing products. I am going to review it in details later. For now let me tell you how to use it. First use the Anti scrub to clean the skin completely. Then in a bowl take a small amount of the pack and dilute it with a few drops of rose water. Apply the face thoroughly all over your face and leave it for 20 minutes or so, until it dries completely. Wash it away in circular motion. Do not use a face wash after using this. If you have severe tan, you may use it 2 times a day. Else once a day for a few days will give you amazing results.

Anti tan face packs

Other than this avoid the sun completely, use an umbrella as well as a scarf to prevent the sun from affecting you directly.Use a suncreen such as Suncross which is super light weight and acts as a primer as well!

  1. Drink loads of water. Since the heat is unbearable even now, we need to stay hydrated to prevent the skin from drying up. The worst thing that can happen now is your skin losing all the moisture.
  2. Like I said earlier, use an umbrella and a scarf at all times. Use a sunscreen as well and try and avoid the sun as much as you can. Your skin will thank you later.
  3. Avoid junk food at all cost before the main event starts. In case your stomach refuses to co operate with you at that time, you’ll be in for a loss. So eat clean now to enjoy those few days.
  4. IMG_20170831_074516_559
  5. Try and avoid using too much make up now or trying out new products. You never know when your skin will react negatively and you’ll be in for a real shock. Stick to the old basic products you have been using all this while.
  6. Make sure you follow the CTM routine extra carefully for these days. Happy skin=happy you.

1. Most of us are still planning to start working out real soon. But alas we have no time. It is not really possible to lose much weight or significant inches from your body within such short time. But we can always try.

2. For starters, maintain your diet for a few days. That doesn’t mean you’ll start with the GM diets and all the diets which claim to make you lose 10 pounds in a week. They will probably end up making you sick by the time the day arrives. Avoid junk and start snacking on those amazing fruits available right now. In case motivation seems to have vanished, take out those amazing clothes you bought and think how much more appealing you’ll look in them. Eat well, eat in regular intervals and eat clean.

3. Detox ! You’ll get quite a few detox recipes online. Try them. Detoxing is an amazing way to clean up your body and helps it to lose weight faster. Try out the cucumber, lemon mint detox. It’s the easiest. Just soak each of these overnight in a 1 l of water and sip on it the entire of the next day. You’ll start feeling amazing. I have interacted with quite a few fitness freaks who have given me their own recipes for detoxing. One being, add a cube of ice everytime you drink water. It acts as an amazing detoxing agent and literally pulls out the harmful things that your body is storing up. The second being, take a tub of warm water and add a few spoons of Vicks or iodex in it. Soak your feet and enjoy the harmful elements leave the body.

4. Drink loads of water. Like seriously! Water is an amazing thing. It speeds up your metabolism, helps you digest and makes you look younger all for free ! If you hate drinking normal water, add some lemon to it and drink it up. Just make sure you intake alot of water in any way possible.

5. Try and do some basic free hand exercise. You can even jog or do a brisk morning/evening walk. Don’t involve in extremely difficult workout regimes. Instead do stuff that keeps you hooked on for a few days atleast. You can also try some aerobics or yoga too if you want. But make sure you do them under supervision or guidance or you may end up pulling a muscle and spending the rest of the month at home !

Now this is one of the most amazing topics that I had the opportunity to write on. We all keep wondering about all the things we should have kept in our purses but have missed out at the last moment. Well here I have a check list for you guys.

1. Carry an umbrella. Oh yes! With the current weather condition you won’t even know when it starts to drizzle or when the sun decides to fry us up!

2. Carry a bottle of water. If you think it is too heavy and is a burden, carry a small 250 ml bottle. For times when even a drop of water can be a blessing, this bottle will be a life saver.

3. Keep all your makeup essentials in a pouch. Keeping it organised will save up time while you do touch ups at those food joint halts. Carry the lipstick you are wearing, a bindi in case of ethnic wear, a small bottle of perfume, a compact, a kajal and a few tissues. The tissues come in real handy in case your makeup has smudged and you need to re apply your make up.

4. Carry a spare pair of slippers. I know it is not possible and you might think this is a horrible idea, but do it! I have been in too many shoe sticky situations for me to give you this advice. I am not talking about the real fancy heavy shoes. Just a casual slipper will help you out in case those heels are killing you or if your shoes decide to tear in the middle of the road.

5. Do you remember my review of peesafe and how important it is for us to carry it with us. Now is the time to use it! With all the public restrooms being exceptionally unhygienic , using the peesafe would be most wise for us.

6. Last but not the least carry some band aids and the most essential medicines with you. During an emergency you won’t have time to look for the medicine shops. So this will be super convenient.

I Know you all are super excited for the pujo to begin and trust me so am I. But my advice to you is, make all your plans in advance. Don’t keep anything for the last moment. Plan your pandal hopping to avoid the rush. Dress up according the wear you are going. If you have an entire day lined up with walking and pandal hopping opt for a comfortable apparel. Decide your dress the night before to avoid last moment rush. Make sure you get enough sleep to start the next day with a fresh mind and energy.

To conclude, I would love to wish you all a very happy pujas. Have loads of fun, click amazing pictures, enjoy and be safe.

Oh and by the way, for us Bengalis , the kosha mangsho finds a special place in our hearts specially during the Navami lunch. Here is my friend and fellow blogger, Priyanka Bhattacharya at speakingaloud sharing her take on the all time favourite Kosha Mangsho. Please do check her recipe out at the link given below :

Review of Spice Kraft

Hey guys,

Going to review a lovely place for you all today. It’s Spice Kraft.
Went to this place today itself for a little wine and dine. I was invited by the owner of one of the biggest food communities Shahbaaz Zaman and I couldn’t say no the this lucrative offer.

So, as soon as you enter this place, you’ll get a beautiful vibe. Soft music and aroma of some delicious food will probably take over your senses. This gem of a place is hidden in south kolkata. We were greated by the owner himself and in a couple of minutes the food started coming in.

The items we had were:

1. Beer can tempura fish

2. Chicken Tandoori Sausage

3. Dajaj Carmoula

4. Fish-en-papillote

5. Green chilly chicken

6. Hunan fish

7. Lynwn Samak

8. Moon faan

9. Nasi goreng

10. Beyond fried ice cream

11. Classic Monte Carlo

12. Tangarita

The food was amazing. The starters were soft and juicy and will probably melt in your mouth. You cannot resist yourself after having just one. The fish here is a speciality and so are the dips. They are excellent and cooked to perfection. The dessert was equally pleasing to the eyes as well as to the taste buds.

The owner himself looked into every single item and made sure it was presented well. It was a beautiful experience. I’ll give it a 5/5 for ambience, food and price.

Do try it out and let me know what you think of it.

Love you guys.

Review of e.l.f lip crayons

Hey guys,

Today I am going to swatch 3 elf lip crayons and tell you guys how amazing it is.

I was recently gifted the lip crayon set by my aunt and I am so happy and grateful that she gave me these. These are one of the most amazing lip crayons ever.

1. The colours are beautiful and matte.

2. Long lasting, say about 6-7 hours. Even then it doesn’t completely go away. Judt gets a tone lighter.

3. Very handy. You can easily carry one in your purse and you won’t even know it is there.

4. Very affordable. These lip crayons come for like $3.00 a piece.

1. Not available in India as far as I know.

2. If you get it shipped internationally, the shipping charge is pretty high. Though they have free shipping above $25.00

3. They leave a stain on your cup. So that’s a mess.

But trust me I love them and the next time I can, I will surely get it again 😍

Swatching the 3 colours. Tell me if you like them or not.

Review of Peesafe

Hey guys,

Writing after a long time cause I was a bit busy with a few things. But hey! Here I am.

Today I am going to tell you guys about a wonder product called Peesafe. It is nothing but a hygiene spray for women. When you are out on a road trip and have no other option but to use those dirty public restrooms, you can grab this travel friendly container from out of your purse and spray the toilet seat before using it. Even if you out for a dinner or a movie, you can always carry this small portable can in your handbag and use it whenever you want. In India, thousands of women are affected by UTI every single day. It might be women from the suburbs or from the metropolitan areas, we women are never safe.

Peesafe is a much needed product for us are the claim to disinfect 99.99% of the germs and remove foul odours! Now, won’t that be a blessing!

  • It kills 99.99% of the germs found in public restrooms
  • It consists of IPA Formulation which starts action within 5 seconds of impact
  • It is small and compact

  • Toilet seats, Toilet Tops, Flush, Door Knobs, Faucets, etc.

Review of the Seduction Las Vegas Lip gloss

Hey guys,

So this is my very first makeup review and I am so excited. Hope I do justice to the amazing product. I’ll be as detailed in my description as possible. In case you still have queries feel free to drop in the questions in the comment section below and Ill try and answer them.

Also a big shoutout to Glamrada for believing in me and making me a part of their trial squad. It is an amazing platform for us budding bloggers. Please feel free to check them out at

Okay so coming back, today I am going to review the Seduction Las Vegas lip gloss. It’s matte and the colour is Brick Red. Just a few seconds after you apply it, it will turn matte. Initially I was a bit skeptical as I felt like it might dry up my lips. But to my surprise it kept it moisturised and hydrated for a real long time. And the cherry on the cake, it smells amazing.

The lipstick glides with ease and really makes your lips look pouty. So all you ladies out there who love some pout, do try this one.

It lasts for a good 5-6 hours and doesn’t stick to the glass or get smudged easily. If you are planning on wearing out for a dinner or lunch date, just re-apply it once you are done with your meal. Water doesn’t easily remove it so it’s better to use an oil based remover once you are done for the day

It is an amazing product and budget friendly too! I am definitely going to repurchase it and try out all the different shades as well. I hope you guys and going to try it and purchase the product. I have attached the swatch as well as the product number at the end of the post. Did you buy it yet? If so let me know in the comment section below.

A helping hand

Have you ever been engulfed in absolute darkness even while sitting in the middle of an over crowded room? Have you ever felt like you have lost the reason to wake up each morning?

What if I tell you that there are several like you. Who are thinking exactly what you are thinking right now, who have given up the reason to even survive in this world.

The scientific description of Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person’s thoughts, behavior, feelings, and sense of well-being. Being in a century where majority of us are dying out of depression each day, how can we be so ignorant of it.

Depression can be triggered by the slightest of things. Maybe by something someone said, lack of growth at work, monotonous life, it can be any reason and no it’s not just a phase that will go by after some time. It’s of a huge concern.

It’s not easy to identify a depressed soul. They maybe wearing the mask of a normal human being, going out, being social, going on dates, but, inside they might be already dead. Dead from the screams of their innerself calling out to them to just stop everything and cut themselves off from any possible contact from the real world. They are brave. They prefer keeping it to themselves than sharing it with everyone. Not everyone can handle it.

It slowly eats you from within. Stops you from dreaming. As soon as you close your eyes, you can see all your failures and worst fears coming in one by one. The possibility of living another day with that thought kills you a bit more. You don’t share cause you know they’ll probably consider you unstable and ask you to visit a shrink. But it becomes tiresome. You just want to sleep and weep and just be alone.

But remember, there will always be like you who has been through all that. We are never far away from them. Try and reach out. Leave a message that you need help. Don’t be scared. It’s okay. It doesn’t mean you are weak, it just means you need someone for now. A friendly hand, a shoulder of someonr who knows you, someone who maybe has faced the same. To live and spend this life amidst all that you love is much more important and you are missing out on those. Don’t give up on this oppurtunity.

Who knows, once we close our eyes forever what’s waiting for us?

She was always a shy girl. Born and raised by conservative parents, she never knew she had a voice of her own. She was taught to dance and sing at a young age. She was a very average student.

So, when the time had come, she was married off. Ofcourse she wasn’t asked before the decision was taken. But it was okay she guessed. After all her parents knew what was best for her.

The best lehenga, beautiful jewellery, no expense was spared. She never saw her parents so happy with anything that concerned her. She had seen the groom once or twice before. He belonged to an influential family and was almost 8 years elder to her He was going to keep her happy. She knew it.

Then a few days later he came home at night, drunk, unable to stand up straight. She helped him walk up to the bedroom when she was welcomed by a slap right on her soft, delicate face. As the night progressed, marks from his pure leather belt covered her pale, white skin. But what could she do, she never knew she had a voice.

The next day as she stepped in front of a mirror, she touched her face gently. It was red and swollen and the marks filled with unpleasant memories.

Taking out her phone, for the first time she opened one of the beautifying applications.

Maybe it was good that there was something in the world which could hide her flaws and make her look beautiful again.
